Dear Dumplin,
“I GOT IT THE PICCUPS! I GOT IT THE PICCUPS!”
That’s what you yelled to me the other day while shaking your hands in the air.
“What?” I said.
“MOMMY!!! OH NO!!! I GOT IT THE PICCUPS!!!”
I could not understand what you were saying. You kept yelling this to me over and over as you shook your hands and looked like the world was ending. I started to get worried. You yelled and yelled and I did not understand what was happening. Then I heard it.
“Hic… Hic… Hic…”
“Izzy. Do you have the hiccups?”
“Oh my peas Mommy. I got it the piccups. What I do?”
And then I did the unthinkable. I laughed. I laughed hysterically. I could not help it. I laughed until tears came out of my eyes. You did not like this… at all.
“Is not funny I got it the piccups Mommy” you said as you frowned.
“No baby, it’s not funny that you have the hiccups. It’s funny that you are calling them the piccups.”
Then I gave you some water.
Love,
Mama
